As an important branch of management science, Safety Management includes the activities of decision-making, planning, organizing and controlling to achieve security objectives, mainly using modern safety management theory, method and means to analyze all kinds of unsafe factors, so as to take strong measures from a technical, organizational and management to achieve the goal of eliminating various unsafe factors and preventing the happening of the accident.In recent years, China’s ferry accidents happened frequently, which seriously threatened the life and property of the masses and neglect of safety management, by the ferry operators was almost unexceptionally the main reason when probing into these accidents. Therefore, this thesis mainly focus on how to effectively motivate ferry operators to strengthen safety management by using the principal-agent theory and other related knowledge of ferry safety management, establish a long-term ferry safety management mechanism. The thesis will also puts forward some constructive and suitable suggestion for ferry safety management within Yulin jurisdiction.Base on the principal-agent theory, this thesis finds out the present problem in ferry safety management within Yulin jurisdiction through analyzing the principal-agent relationship between the ferry operators, and puts forward the corresponding countermeasures. The idea of establishing an effective long-effect mechanism for the safety management of ferry operators must synchronously promote the innovation of the corresponding legal basis and provide support to the investment of ferry operators is also presented in the thesis.Studying the safety management problems is the guarantee of safety management by the ferry operators, and it is important from the view of both theory and production.
