The first part describes the concept offamily violence, characteristics and classification. Women are members of a sociallyvulnerable group, it is necessary to make special provisions for their protection. Weshould make full use of legal avenues to safeguard the rights and interests of womensubjected to domestic violence so that social harm is reduced to a minimum. Everyfamily should have a good living environment free from family violence, mainly inthe form of assault, abuse, degrading behaviour and reduction in feelings of selfworth. Damage can be divided into different forms of family violence, physicalviolence, mental violence and economic violence.The second part mainly describes the current domestic violence caused harm andthe causes of family violence. To solve the problem we need to know the main causesof domestic violence and family violence this is fundamental to a solution to theproblem. There are a lot of reasons for the occurrence of domestic violence,, but themain reason lies in the lack of legislation and the negative impact of traditional ideas. Therefore this paper focuses on the analysis of the family violence legal reasons,ideological reasons, social and financial reasons.The third part looks mainly at our country’s anti domestic violence laws andregulations regarding their adequacy and put forward some correspondingcountermeasures and suggestions. We explore the concept of family violence and thelegal characteristics of such violence, research the harm caused by family violence. Itis necessary to scientifically examine what is in our control to combat domesticviolence using legal issues, and seek to prevent family violence in specific ways. Webelieve that the prevention and curbing family violence legislation countermeasuresshould include attention to justice, social control and other aspects. At present in ourcountry there is an increasing need for a set of special anti-domestic violence lawsand that the practice of law enforcement should be pay better attention to familyviolence matters. In addition we have necessarily to draw lessons from foreignpractice. For example, provide shelters for victims.The harm of family violence not only directly damages the victim’s physical andmental health and dignity as well as the perpetrators mental health, but also indirectlyinfluences social development and stability and unity as well as threatening normalmarriage relationships and family values and hinders the attainment of a socialistharmonious society. Domestic violence is not something one person can solve but,rather, relies on the power of the whole society to solve to obtain desirable socialeffects. We need to consider legal, social and other fields, various aspects of supportthat is comprehensive, specific and appropriate to protect family violence victims, sothat each family lives together in harmony so as to better promote the harmoniousdevelopment of our society and better protect human rights.
