The Research On RAND Corporation’s Influence On The United States Public Policy

As an important part of public policy, think tank plays an increasingly important role in today’s international community. As one of the the largest U.S. think tanks, RAND Corporation is a milestone in the the course of U.S. think tank’s development, it is the most outstanding representative on the second stage(think tanks that began to sign contracts with the Government appeared).Study the history of think tanks’development, the origin of think tanks is early, but it was not until the1990s that academia began to focus on it.lt is a long period from the bud of think tanks to the focus of world’s academic vision. Rand Corporation has close relationship with U.S. military from its foundation.The RAND researchers have carried or are carrying out a number of research projects that involves national secrets.So Rand has not been unveiled. So far,the research for RAND Corporation of academia is still very inadequate.The existing researches rarely involve how Rand Corporation participate in the United States public policy process.China is facing increasingly complex domestic and international situation and problems emerged in an endless stream.So China has eager need of think tanks’ work.This article tries to completely analyze and research on how Rand Corporation participate in the public policy process, keeps its essence and discard its dross and in order to provide a clue for the development of China’s think tanks, and offer a few ideas for China’s scientific and democratic decision.
