The numerous and large of clans of the State of Jin is thebackbone of the Jin society. Jin regime stability, the establishmentand maintenance of the hegemony of obtaining the dominantposition, cannot be separated from the generous help of the variousdomestic clans. However, the numerous force clans of the Jin Statethat following the hegemony of the Jin State have gradually becamethe nightmare of monarch in the later historical process. Due to theimplemention of the “the lack of a royal family”, the patriarchaldomination and the blood relationship of Jin State are no longer theonly tache of maintaining the relationship between the royal familyand the clans. Therefore, the clans depend on the political intereststo determine to follow the royal family or not. The political infightingand the conflict of interests between the royal family and thenumerous clans caused wars frequently. And three powerful force ofclans(Zhao、Wei、Han) eventually involved in separating the State ofJin. Judging from hereditary minister, a high official inherited from family succession in ancient times, shift of the defeat of the right toknow. The State of Zhao、Wei、Han that based on Jin State takehistory as a mirror and take steps to contain the clan’s rising insuccession. But finally back on the path of “Practice Nepotism”result from the overcorrecting. A large chunk of Legalists wasforced to leave the Zhao、Wei、Han because of the rising of the clans.The Legalists make a significant contribution to the development ofQin dynasty, the State of Zhao、Wei、Han was conquered by Qinfinally and then the politics of clan was collapsed.This article discusses a range of issues, such as thecompositions of the clans of Jin State, the politics of clan in diffrenttimes, the occupation and development of the fiefs and fiefdomsand the major clans’ political participation. Based on these issues,this dissertation reviews the process of the clan in Jin State riseand decline, and then explores deeply the profound influence of clanin Jin State during the historical process of the State of Jin and theQin dynasty.
