It is an indisputable fact that currently our society is in the transition period. During this period, there is a huge change in people’s ideology, moral values and value orientation, and they will confront a lot of choices and temptations. All these need our instruction to help people keep their faith and enhance their confidence. Therefore, it is a practical problem that we must build socialist harmonious society and build a socialist core value system. As a particular social group in building socialist harmonious society, rural minors are different in growing environment, education mode, and living condition and so on, compared with urban minors, which leads to their own characteristics in view of life, world and value. In the background of our country’s accelerated urbanization and increasing urban population, rural minors today are the constructors and successors of our country. Building a harmonious society especially enhancing the study of rural minors’moral education, embodied that our country emphasizes the education and growth of rural minors and is the inherent meaning of building a socialist harmonious society. It can be noticed that in social development moral education of rural minors are confronting new changeable circumstances and opportunities, and at the same time, going through the tests of new problems and challenges. We should deal with these opportunities and challenges properly in time, treat problems concerned with rural minors in a more scientific and rational way, deeply analyze the characteristics of rural minors’moral education in the new period of building harmonious society, and search various reasons for rural minors’problem concerned with moral education. Then we can come up with corresponding countermeasure and methods, and implement rural minors’moral education. All these are significant problems which deserves our party and country’s long-period emphasis and constant attention and are the source and foundation for our Chinese nation’s revitalization, reaching the standard of moderately developed countries in the21st century. The paper is divided into three parts: The first part mainly explores the inherent relationship between building a harmonious society and rural minors’moral education, which is the base and premise of choosing this topic. By analyzing new challenges and requirements of rural minors’moral education put forward by building harmonious society, it can be found that rural minors’moral education and building harmonious society is an organic unity, and essentially the two are in whole-part relationship. Sometimes, rural minors’moral education as the part, can affect the whole greatly. Therefore, in order to realize the expected goal of building a harmonious society, we must emphasize the work concerned with rural minors’moral education.The second part discusses problems and reasons for current rural minors’moral education. Due to rural minors’status as social special group and vulnerable group, it is inevitable that they will encounter various problems in our country’s accelerated process of industrialization and urbanization. It is the premise for rural minors’moral education to find the typical problems by searching and exploring, and then analyzing the reasons for the problem.The third part mainly explores the approaches for rural minors’ moral education in the background of building harmonious society. To find out the problem is not the purpose, while to deal with the problem is the key. Rural minors’moral education is a long-term, complex, arduous and essential work in the new period. The importance of rural minors’ moral education requires us to explore a long-term educating mechanism that suits rural minors themselves, which will ensure the implement and effectiveness of rural minors’moral education.
