Non-economic Factors Of Migratory-bird-style Floating Employment Phenomenon Of Migrant Workers

Since the end of1980s, with the further disintegration of China’s population controland rapid regional economic development, the income disparity between urban and ruralarea is enlarging, more and more rural surplus labors are pushed into the cities, whichcauses farmers’ frenzied hunt for work in cities. However, the2008economic crisisbrought a shortage of migrant workers to the East China, and Migrant workers go back torural home in groups. Along with the resume of the economic crisis, the workers came tocities again. This cycle of labor migration is vividly compared to “Migratory-bird-style”.This essay is based on the discussion of “Migration-Urbanization-Development” inMigration Theory, taking “Migratory-bird-style” as objective, by comparing the twodifferences of China and Overseas’ urbanization experience. It aims to find out and analyzethe influence factors of the “Migratory-bird-style” from4aspects, they are HumanResource of Migrant worker,“Push-Pull” powers of ingoing,“Gravitation-Resistance”powers of outgoing and macroscopical system factors. This research is explored bybuilding up the systematic hypothesis of “Migratory-bird-style” with525questionnairesupported, applying of SPSS and the method of comparative analysis. The findings mainlyare: firstly,“Migratory-bird-style” is a primary difference between the migration process ofChina and foreign countries. Secondly, to upgrade and accumulate the human resources ofmigrant workers, to ameliorate their experience and identification in the city are effectiveto transfer the “Migratory-bird-style”. Thirdly, the main reason of “Migratory-bird-style”flooding is because the long division of urban and rural, some special policy arrangementenhance the degree of division. In conclusion, the way to reducing the phenomenon of“Migratory-bird-style” lies on China’s systematic New Urbanization.
