With physical education curriculum and teaching reform further expansion,module teaching is becoming more and more important,According to “The ordinaryhigh school physical education and health course standard”concept and regulation,High school physical education and health course teaching should adopt the form ofmodule teaching,Track and field module is one of the compulsory modules, Studentswho major in track and field module are required to study at least18schoolhours,and then they could gain the corresponding1credit. The teaching module hasbeen carried out since September2008in Xinjiang uygur autonomous region, Andthe model high schools were given priority to implement.In order to get a quite general understading of the specific implementation oftrack and field teaching module in border region,we made our survey in Xinjiangseveral schools, many people participated in our survey,including370students and90teachers in those schools, we made detailed researches about students’ andteachers’ cognition of Teaching of track and field modules、Teachers qualitis andTeaching actual conditions of track and field、the sports facilities and the facilitiescondition and some affecting factors, The results show that:1. Track and field teaching in module form in the border area high school has beinggenerally accepted by students and teachers since it was executed.2. The overall implementation of the module track and field teaching in the borderarea high school is quite well, Not less than18school hours and Credits aredemanded in accord with some authoritative state, But the execution forms aredifferent, even some individual school did not arranged enough schools hours on thismodule teaching.3. There are some serious problems in the track and field module teaching, such aslacking money, less teachers with professional knowledge of Track and field modulesand so on.4. In the process of implementing the track and field module teaching, that effectivetrainings on teachers’ quality is recognized would lay a solid foundation for furthercourse reform.5. Many problems, such as more students in track and field modules but lessprofessional teachers、 bad filed、less advanced facilities、and inadequate learningevaluation system and so on,are important influencing factors of track and fieldteaching modules.By analyzing the track and field module course implementation case in Urumqi city20th middle school, combing with experts interview, we concluded somecountermeasures and Suggestions in the implementation of track and field coursemodule:1.The school leader should pay more attention on the implementation of track andfield course module,they can support it in policy, material and financialresources,Human and so on;2.The school conditions, students’ needs and hobbies Etc should be taken in to fullconsideration with implementation of track and field course module;3.The policy of18school hours to get a credit must be implanted;.4.In track and field module course,The physical education teachers should activelyguide, encourage students to make evaluation on themselves and other students, Andthe students’ self assessment and evaluation results play more roles in the finalgrades;5.The track and field course module which can combine some special basictechnology with students’ body quality should be designed.
