The Research On The Personality Characters And Pre-Competitive Emotion Of Our Country’s Snowboarding Half Pipe Athletes

Psychological selection of athletes and the pre-competitive emotion state are two important factors of performance in the match. In recent years, researchers were particularly concerned about this. However, It is lack of researches of snowboarding half pipe, potential advantages project of winter sports in China.In the paper, using Cattell’s Sixteen Personality Pactor Questionnaire (16PF) and The pre-competitive emotional tscale–T on 44 national Chinese snowboarding half pipe athletes to explore the basic characteristics and the relationship of snowboarding half pipe athletes’personality characters and pre-competitive emotion, and provide empirical evidence of psychological selection and mental training and mental intervention.SPSS17.0 statistical software was used to analyze. The main conclusions of the reseach are as follows:1.From the basic characters of personality: The main personality characters of snowboarding half pipe athletes were excitatory,tension,anxiety,motto,bravity,sensitivity,stability and so on ; the personality types included ordinary type,excitatory- Bravity type,Sensitivity- tension type;The personality character and their types had significant differences on sport level.2.From the basic characters of pre-competitive emotion: The most pre-competitive emotion of snowboarding half performance was confidence,followed by individual failure anxiety, anxiety of social expectations and somatic anxiety. The pre-competitive emotion types included mix-type ,confidence-type;indifferent-type. The pre-competitive emotion had significant differences on the different levels of sports teams and different sport levels.3.From the relationship between personality and pre-competitive emotion: personality characters were significant predictors of pre-competitive emotion,adaptability and anxiety can explained 34% and 27.9% variation on individual failure anxiety and anxiety of social expectations. Cowardice and decisiveness can explained 14% variation on confidence. In addition, excitatory- bravity athletes had less anxiety.4.From the case:Most excellent athletes were Excitatory- Bravity type and Confidence type.The main suggestion of this reseach are:(1)In the psychological selection, We should emphasize on chosing Excitatory- Bravity athletes to engage in snowboarding half pipe.(2)In the pre-competitive emotion,We should emphasize on training the athletes’confidence and reducing their anxiety.(3)In the mental training and intervention, the if athletes are indifferent or anxiety in pre-competitive, We Should recover them by the metods such as mental training and counseling and so on.
