Study Objective: In yoga teaching, the use of scientific, reasonable and targeted teaching method can effectively improve teaching effect, thus making this kind of sports broadly develop between colleges and universities, at the same time, further promot quality education and carry out the "health first" guiding ideology. However, yoga teaching started late in our country, with no unified teaching material or outline, even more lacking pertinence teaching methods, thus it develops slowly relatively in teaching research. Based on the above problems, it is necessary for us to improve yoga teaching and explore a suitable and effective yoga teaching method, in order to better promote the development of yoga teaching.Research methods: This study selected randomly of 44 non-professional students of sports who chose yoga for experimental object in Hebei sports institute in Grade 2007and averagly divide them into experimental class and comparative class. This paper adopts document literature method, expert interview, mathematical statistics andteaching experiment method. Theoretically states using imaginary training in the yoga postures skill learning, discusses and summarizes about imaginary training theory and the domestic and foreign research situation, and describes the presentation practice in yoga posture learning during the implementing process. Through 32 hours teaching experiment, by research and analyze of the two groups’experimental results, we get the following conclusions:Study Results:1.Representation training combined with the conventional teaching method is clearly superior to conventional teaching method.2. Representation method can obviously improve the yoga teaching effect. In the first phase of yoga learning, the use of visual representation practice can accelerate the formation of students’ action representation and help beginners to master postures. In the second and third stages of learning motor skills in yoga posture , using representation training can help yoga postures action technology improvement, and deepen memory.3.The combination of representation method and actual practice can improve students’ general phase representation capability and yoga postures action representation capability.4. In yoga teaching, the application of representation method accords with the motor skill formation law, can promote students to master and memory the posture movements. Recommendations:1. Do not give up the normal teaching methods , because training is only a secondary means of representation .Only the image training and routine practice of combining teaching can play its proper role.2. Good attitude is the basis for mental training ,training should require students to remove all distractions so that the appearance of the training can received very good result.3. For teachers and students , imagery training is a psychological training methods. In the actual application process still needs further improvement and refinement by their proficiency in the use and timing constraints.4. The multi-boot image training students in extra-curricular action when conditions , and action as the students themselves to practice and improve technology as an effective method of supporting practice.
