Multicultural teacher education is the focus of modern education, is also anurgent requirement of contemporary multicultural education. With the continuousdevelopment of globalization and modern, the contradictions of multi-culturalconflict and integration, inheritance and development becomes increasinglyprominent, the implementation of multicultural education is not only the trend of thecontemporary international educational development, is also an urgent requirementof China’s educational development. Xinjiang minority region forms ‘ethnic diversityand unity’ consensus and ‘multivariate integration’ pattern due to history and otherreasons, the implementation of multicultural education has become inevitable.Scholars Tengxing described the purpose of multicultural education is to helpmembers of ethnic minorities on the one hand to improve the ability to adapt to themodern mainstream society, in order to achieve the maximum development of theindividual; the other hand, inherit and carry forward the minority outstanding culturalheritage, rich treasure house of human culture, and make due contributions tomankind."However, in the Xinjiang ethnic minority region, regardless of educationor teacher education is the training of students to adapt to mainstream societycapacity, while the minority the attention of the outstanding cultural heritage is notenough. Thus, in Xinjiang minority region, such a complex and multi-culturalenvironment, requires teachers with the knowledge, abilities and attitudes of theimplementation of multi-cultural education, this puts forward a challenge for teachereducation. Thus, Implementation of multicultural teacher education is imperative.This is not only the requirements of globalization and multicultural era, but also theneeds of the development of national education, reform of the new curriculum,school-based curriculum development, the national cultural heritage, as well as theprofessional development of teachers.For the study of multicultural teacher education, first of all in the theory, thisstudy collects materials and combs the concept from multicultural perspective, andproposes the meaning and value of multicultural teachers and multicultural teachereducation from the goal of the multicultural education. The article preliminarydiscusses the main contents and objectives of teachers’ multicultural literacy training.Secondly, in practice investigation, the study conducts a thorough investigation andresearch for the situation of teachers’ multicultural literacy, revealed the problems ofthe multicultural teacher education. The current teacher education and training is in the absence of the concept of multicultural education and multicultural teachertraining courses. Lastly, the study puts forward implementation strategy ofmulticultural teacher education of Xinjiang minority region. First, to construct theconcept and goals of multicultural teacher education, that is, to establish the conceptof multicultural teacher education and join the cultivation of multicultural teacherinto the training objectives of teacher education; secondly, to set and develop thecourses and curriculum resources of multicultural teacher education, mainly note theinstall of multicultural teacher training courses and develop the curriculum resourcesof multicultural teacher education in the curriculum of teacher education; thirdly, toexplore the multicultural teacher education training model, not only to carry outintegration policies of multicultural teacher education, but also establish trainingmodel of multicultural teacher education in teacher education training model.The author hopes that the research in this aspect can complete the teachereducation of Xinjiang minority region and train teachers to adapt to the needs ofmulticultural society and multicultural education. And then promote the developmentof education and teacher education of Minority region. Meanwhile, the author hopesthat the study can provide some reference views for the region.
