Research On The Strategy Of Contemporary Patriotism Education Of University Students

Patriotism is one of the most significant Chinese traditional moralities which exists and lasts from ancient China until now. As a spiritual support and a spiritual wealth, patriotism is the core of forming the wealth of socialism. Suggestions of CPC Central Committee and State Council on Further Strengthening and Improving Ideological and Political Education of University Students claims that national spirit should be promoted and enhanced based the criterion of setting the patriotism education as the key point. It is suggested that national spiritual education should be combined with the spirits of the new age whose core is reform and innovation, in order to lead the university students to enhance their patriotism, reform and innovation capabilities and their spirit of diligent and hard-working in the great practice of the socialism with Chinese characteristics.This thesis will focus on the question of how to enhance the patriotism education on university students. It will begin with the analysis of the situations and problems of the patriotism in universities in this new age and raise eight principles on university patriotism in terms of the principle of consistency, principle of integration, principle of effectiveness, principle of nationality, principle of open, principle of the new age and the principle of specific in the new age. The author of this thesis also highlights the effective ways of enhancing university patriotism education in contemporary education system in terms of: adequate investments and attention from school leaders, enhancing the team components of teachers, establishing and enhancing feedback system, using student-friendly style of teaching to enrich the two-course, enhancing teaching style, influencing university students on patriotism with the true stories of typical patriot in different ages, organizing patriotic activities on important memorial days making full use of the "red tourism"on patriotism education of university students and making full use of modern communication style on patriotism education on university students.
