| In order to emancipate students’mind and show their own characteristics, theteaching of imaginative compositions are put forward in the background ofquality-oriented education. "When students write imaginative compositions, they canuse association and imagination to enrich their contents."Imaginative compositionsoffer advantageous conditions and broad space for the students, reduce the constraintsof students’writing, encourage free expression and creative expression." A largenumber of our language teachers and educators have been trying to find a program ortheory to solve the difficulties and maladies during the practice of imaginativecompositions over these years. The teaching of imaginative compositions is often in astate of disorder and helplessness and the levels of students’writings are also verylow, because we are lack of scientific theories of writings. It is very urgently for oureducators to know how to break the awkward situation and let the students to writeimaginative compositions with passion and vitality.Take <Lyrics> of Lu Ji and < Heart Of The Dragon> of Liu Xie for example,Classical literary theories have many theories of imagination. They explain thewriting of concepts and experience systematically and comprehensive in ancientChina. They also prove learning and useful theories of methods for us to research theteaching of imaginative compositions.This paper is divided into four parts .The author writes this paper according torealities of the current high schools, researches the classical and imaginative literarytheories in pious attitude and try to find the best conjunction point which is fromclassical literary theories of imagination and the teaching of imaginations in highschools.Chapter 1 mainly aims at the current teaching of imaginative compositions toexplain with a method of questionnaire survey in order to find existing problems inthe teaching of imaginative compositions.
