Although people’s living conditions are improving,their physical and mental pressuresare increasing because of fast life.Such diseases as obesity and hypertension are following.With the quick development of our country’s sports industry,people are realizing theimportance of exercise.However,the PE class is always considered a minor in schoolcurricula,so it isn’t paid much attention to.And the PE teachers’quality remains poor.Withthe extension of the curriculum standard in secondary and primary schools in 2005,peoplepay much attention to the PE class. I think we should build up the ranks of teachers and attachmore importance to the PE class."The core of the education reform lies in the curriculumreform and the key of the reform lies in teacher".[1]Whether the reform is successful or notdepends on the attitude of teachers.If there aren’t high-quality teachers,any reform will be afailure.The thesis studied PE teachers,the teaching and research leaders,and principals inLaiyang middle schools.Such methods as documents, questionnaire surveys and interviewsare used.The author investigated and analyzed PE teachers’general situations,teaching,research,continuing education,new curriculum standard,the amount of work,benefits andoccupational attitude so that the present situations of PE teachers can be understood and theproblems can be overcome.On this basis some advice and countermeasures can be broughtforward.And some theoretical basis can be provided for PE teachers’development.There arethree chapters in this thesis.Chapter 1 elaborates the important basis of building up the ranks of PE teachers inLaiyang middle schools.Chapter 2 investigated and analyzed the problems met by PE teachers and PE teachers’present situations.The thesis studied PE teachers’teaching condition,teaching and research,the implementation of new curriculum standard,continuing education and survival conditionin order that some theoretical basis can be provided for PE teachers’development.Chapter 3 analyzed the countermeasures for PE teachers.This chapter includes fiveparts:emphasizing the building of PE teachers and establishing the new teaching concept;increasing the numbers of teachers and giving correct guidance to the teaching and research; improving the training to ensure the implementation of the new curriculum standard;enhancing the continuing education to improve the academic certificates and titles; caring theliving quality of PE teachers....
