English Curriculum Standard pointed out:" the general aim of the stage of basic education is cultivating students’ comprehensive ability of using language. The formation of an integrated language proficiency depends on the development of the language skills, language knowledge, emotional attitude, learning strategies and cultural awareness, and cultural awareness is the support of appropriate using language." The training of students’ cross-cultural consciousness is closely related to teachers’ intercultural consciousness, because of the environmental and social impact of other conditions, in some areas of China’s English teachers’ intercultural consciousness has not received enough attention, teachers’ teachers’ cross-cultural awareness is weak, The problem of cultivating English teachers’ intercultural consciousness are in urgent.This paper consist five parts. The first one provides the background and the significance of the topic. In the second part, the author talk about the relationship of the language and the cultural, refers back to the achievements on the from the connotations and the structure of it. Chapter three mainly presents the current situation of English teachers’ cross-cultural awareness in countryside by questionnaires and interviews. The next part analyzes the factors that influence the teachers’ cross-cultural awareness from he internal and external environment. The fourth part provides some methods to develop the teachers’cross-cultural awareness.
