Experimental Study On Team Building Games Affecting The Cohesion Of Youth Basketball Team

Abstract: Team building game is a kind of Outward Bound, and manycompanies are using this means to train team cohesion, it mainly takes team game asthe basic means so that the staff in their spare time can do physical exercise as well asrelax mood and achieve certain result of team cohesion. Therefore, it is widelywelcomed by many companies, especially large enterprises. Sports teams as a group,team cohesion has an important effect on the scores of the entire sports teams,especially for the team sports (such as basketball, soccer, volleyball), and so researchon the cohesion of the sports team has been concerned by many psychologyresearchers and coaches. There are many researches on team cohesion, including thecohesion of the status quo of the domestic professional sports teams and evaluationsystem, and methods to develop team cohesion through reading the extensiveliterature. Such researches have achieved some results of these studies and providesome theoretical supports for the study of team cohesion, but how the researches willbe applied to the actual training, it has not been solved. This paper attempts to use theteam building game of training the cohesion of the company to cultivate the cohesionof youth basketball team, in order to discover whether there is some relationshipbetween them. Therefore, this thesis through the literature, interviews, experiments,and mathematical statistics method, bases on20men’s basketball athletes in trainingof Fushun City Sports School (age13-15years, the training time of1-2years), carriesteam-building games training interventions, and tests the change of cohesion by theGroup Environment Questionnaire GEQ, to find the changes of the technicalindicators by group competition, finally find out the effects on the cohesion of youthbasketball team and the impact of technical indicators through team building games.The study concluded that:1, basketball team cohesion level of Fushun City Sports School is low, the level ofsocial cohesion is lower than the level of task cohesion.2, team building games can enhance social cohesion, task cohesion and team cohesionof youth basketball team, significantly the enhancing of task cohesion is more obviousthan social cohesion.3, team building games can help players hit rate, and raise the level of assists, whilerising the level of rebounds is not very obvious.
