Phenomenon Causes And Trends Of Modern Urban Older Office Lady Unmarried

With the promotion of China’s modernization process and forming of market economic system, while tremendous progress in the socio-economic, some social problems have emerged. By the impact of the changes both on the transformation of social and the individual aspects, the phenomenon of modern urban older office lady unmarried gradually appears. In recent years, this phenomenon gradually gets the attention of academics and public opinion, and was widely discussed and spread, marked as "3S Lady". The discussion and study on "3S Lady" became a hot topic of analysis on the women’s issues rapidly.This study focuses on MOON Lady, the backbone of current social development and the representative group of modern urban society. Here modern urban older office lady unmarried is named as "M-O-O-N Lady":Modern Older Office lady with No marriage. The abbreviation involves the main features of this special group, including: live in modern cities, office lady, older, unmarried.There is important practical significance that study on the phenomenon of MOON Lady. On the micro view, understanding the relationship between urban older office lady’s values of marriage and social changes to analyze the causes of MOON Lady has positive effect for understanding and guiding their marriage behavior correctly. On the macro view, the family is relatively stable basic elements of the society, and marriage status of urban older office ladies has significant impact for building happy families and harmonious society.The author selected interview as an empirical method which used rarely in such topics, combined with literature analysis, to study the mate choice and marriage status of modern urban office lady, based on the following social theories:social values, social mobility, personal relationships, social identity, gender roles, slope of mate selection, marriage squeeze. The theoretical principles foreshadow the fact and the fact confirms the theory to make the structure of analytical content more scientific and reliable. In interview part, we choose12cases totally, interview directly or on network and telephone to gather information for the analysis process as factual reference.This article forms around:"One phenomenon"--the phenomenon of MOON Lady;"Two paths"-social and individual;"Three dimensions"-social environment, cultural awareness, and factual status. Following this idea, the contents were divided into three parts:Part Ⅰ:The1st and2nd chapter. Introduces the background, significance, analysis and review of relevant literatures, to give a clear definition of core concepts, and describes of the research ideas, frameworks and methods.Part Ⅱ:The3rd to5th chapter. This is the main part of this article. In the3rd chapter, analysis of the social factors affecting MOON Lady on the social environment changing view. In the4th chapter, analysis of the individual factors affecting MOON Lady on the life changing view. These two chapters attempt to summarize subjective and objective impact of the phenomenon of MOON Lady on both macro and micro aspects, to construct the analytical framework for future analysis as reference. In the5th chapter, based on the information from interview, predict trends of the phenomenon of MOON Lady and make recommendations.Part Ⅲ:The6th chapter. This is the summary section, an overview of the ideas and conclusions, and discussion the contribution and inadequacies of the article.Through the analysis, the author believes that the phenomenon of MOON Lady was caused by the combined effect of both macro-social and micro-individual factors. The social bias of the phenomenon of MOON Lady should be corrected and guided by opinion-oriented to understand and accept this phenomenon, and to develop some measures to prevent the possible follow-up problems leaded by the phenomenon.
