In August2007, the Ministry of Education and National Linguistics WorkCommittee of China jointly issued "Language Situation in China:2006, in which "3slady", as a newly emerging Chinese vocabulary, was included, and it has beenacquainted formally by the public since its debut on the Internet in2003. In addition,"3s lady" has been constructed continuously, and even become a universal topic in themedia, to the extent that it attracts great attention from the media report. However, ithas been propagated astray in the irregularly tremendous report by the media.Based on “3s lady”, this paper aims to probe into the discourse bias of differentgenders on TV media with the help of theory of communication sciences, and putforward the constructive comments and suggestions, from the perspective of theillusion created by TV media’s transmitting the “3s lady” excessively andimpractically, taking an example of TV play and entertainment program, the typicallyrepresentative spreading modes of TV media.Firstly, this paper puts forward the comprehensive definition of3s lady,interprets the history of this word under the overall environment of society, and pointsout the original meaning of the word, the concept reinvested by the society as well asthe habitual concept formed in media transmission, briefly indicates the negativemeaning of “3s” and reveals its real meaning.Then, the author selected a typical representative of the TV media, TV play andentertainment program, to analyze the process of the excessive consumption of “3slady” by TV media, summarize its main characteristics from the TV play related with“3s lady” and the focuses of TV play in transmission. In addition, the author brieflypointed out the excessive consumption of “3s lady” on TV media in terms of datingshow of entertainment program.Furthermore, the author stressed on analyzing and describing the illusion of3slady created by TV media. Through showing the types and stereotype of3s r ladyportrayed by TV media, the author analyzed the3s lady under the discourse right ofmedia with the help of agenda setting theory of communication sciences, to conclude that the this phenomenon is the result of discourse bias of different genders, whichwould cover up the public agenda and distort the topic of3s lady. As a result, thisphenomenon would influence the audience’s understanding of the real3s lady,exaggerate this issue and even trigger out the public panic.Finally, the author reflected on "3s lady" issue created by media and showed adetailed analysis of its misunderstanding and negative effects, by which the authorappealed TV media to trace back the root of the "3s lady" issue, and scientifically setagenda, as well as carry out mass communication in a right way under social context.In the end, the author put forward the corresponding countermeasures.
