Mathematics understanding is the center of mathematics education and the key of the student to obtain mathematics knowledge. After solving the "mathematical problems "Mathematical understanding" has become an important issue In today’s education circle. Many scholars study Mathematical understanding from different perspectives, such as, the importance of mathematical understanding, the obstacles of the mathematical understanding and its causes, the promoting and training of Mathematical understanding, etc. But these are all theoretical speculative research, without enough teaching practice. This research is combined with our country’s basic education teaching characteristics, and try to find out how to use the Mind mapping to promote the students’ mathematical understanding and improve the students’ study results by The empirical research, from the students’study situation, Mind mapping as a tool, teaching design of Mind mapping As the strategy, improving students’ Mathematical understanding as the goal, using the theory and practice way. In the theory, this paper summarize the mind mapping and mathematical understanding, and mathematical understanding is divided into four levels:the conceptual understanding, algorithm understanding, interpretive understanding, Inquiry understanding. And according to the characteristics that mind mapping can build bridges among all kinds of conceptions, theories and the application of practical problems in math, and the definition of mathematical understanding in this paper, put forward the teaching strategy that using mathematical mind mapping to promote students’ understanding of the mathematics:That is in review summarizing, use mind mapping to promote students’ mathematical understanding; In problem-solving training, use mind mapping to promote students’ mathematical understanding.On the research part, I compiled two copies of the test paper of mathematical understanding as the experimental pretest and posttest, Then chose two parallel class students as a research object, in Grade7in my school. In the experimental class, used the mind mapping teaching design strategy to teach, and in the other class still used the normal teaching design way to teach. After getting the marks, collected the data and analysis by the SPSS Statistical software. Then selected three students in different understanding from the experimental class to do the Case interviews and Works analysis, in order to inspect the effectiveness of the empirical research and the influence of mathematical understanding to the students.Research shows that:mind mapping as a kind of thinking of the visualization tool, it can effectively help students understand math, in the teaching using mind mapping can promote students’ Mathematical understanding, improve the students’ academic record...
