| In the16th Men’s World Basketball Championship hosted by Turkey, Chinese Men’s Basketball Team stopped at final16with1victory and5losses, which is not a good achievement. Members of Chinese Men’s Basketball Team led by an American coach named Deng Huade show their strong will and fighting spirit in this FIBA Basketball World Cup, which should be given credit to beyond doubt. While we have to acknowledge that the overall strength of Chinese Men’s Basketball is pretty weaker than that of world strong teams. Especially, the guard, as the core and soul of the whole playground, is still the weakness of the team and often could grasp the chance properly in game’s critical period, which makes mistakes continuously leading the loss in the game.This paper is based on the performance of guards from Chinese Men’s Basketball Team and guards from top four teams in this FIBA Basketball World Cup. The author analyzes the correlative factors of competition ability (attack and defend ability, rebound ability), does comparative analysis with established relevant specific targets, and obtains the quantitative and qualitative results, which gives a useful reference for the future guard cultivation of Chinese Men’s Basketball Team and the future competitions. This paper uses document-date method, video observation, experts interview, mathematical statistics, and logic analysis. The author finds that(1) the defensive ability of guards of Chinese Men’s Basketball Team is stronger than before. In the aspect of scoring ability, they have advantages and characteristics in the free-throw. While they are lacking in the accuracy and stability of perimeter shot, have low efficiency in scoring, and have limitation in the scoring area. In the key period of the game, they lack for scoring abilities. They are behind the top four teams, especially in the aspect of drive-and-pass, which is lacking in purposiveness and the sense of drive-and-pass. In the aspect of passing, they are at variance both the awareness of passing and the technique of passing, have low efficiency of assisting, have narrow vision of passing, not to mention the plenty of mistakes. They have a strong desire to attack but foul a lot. Due to that they want to play safe too much, they have a weak awareness of fast break. Furthermore, their ability of team’s coordination and organization.(2) when the ability of defence is considered, the guards of Chinese Men’s Basketball Team have a stronger enthusiasm in defence, yet with weak aggressive defence ability. As they can not predict and estimate the condition at the same time, they alway have leaden feet. In addition, their ways to use defence have no direction, which needs bo be improved. The individual defence ability of Chinese Men’s Basketball Team is not too weak, but the integrity of defence is still behind the top four teams.(3) the guards of Chinese Men’s Basketball Team is behind the top four teams in the ability of getting the frontcourt rebound. They are lacking in the awareness of striving for the ball in the front court. And when they get the frontcourt rebound, their ability of scoring finally still needs to be improved.(4) the guard team of Chinese Men’s Basketball Team is now a temporary shortage. There is a big gap between the ability of leading players and substitute players. Young players are lacking in experiences of big games, but they have great potential to grow.(5) the physical capability of guards of Chinese Men’s Basketball Team declines noticeably in game’s final stage. And their opposability is considerably poor. |
