Abstract As an important resource, alumni is becoming more and more essential forcolleges and universities in recent year. And then alumni association is a vitalorganization structure. College alumni association in the United States has betternetwork, effective measures, and becomes relatively normative structure of alumniassociation through300years development. However, Alumni association in Chinabegins late and are still on the initial now, which is lack of practical and effectivework, institutional framework is not sound enough.Therefore, this article is aiming atoffering some suggestions for the development of college alumni association in ourcountry through the discuss and study of the history, current situation and feature ofCollege alumni association in the United States. This research makes use of study methods such as literature, comparative, andanalysis of cases. It summarized the history and current situation of College alumniassociation, and then analyzed the feature of alumni association. Through thecomparison of alumni association between America and China, the paper will offercorresponding countermeasures. This paper, in addition to introduction and conclusion, there are four mainsections. The first paper will review the history of College alumni association in theUnited States. The second part will summarize the current situation of college alumniassociation in the United States and analyzed the characteristics and function inmanagement institution and organized events. The third part is the case analysis of College alumni association. Take Yaleuniversity as an example, the paper summarized the feature of college alumniassociation. The fourth part will discuss the current situation and problem. which willconclude and offer some enlightenments and recommendations. including expandingthe contents of alumni work, enrich the alumni activities, establishing an outstanding staff for alumni work, make the alumni work institutions.
