College students are hope of the nation and future of our motherland.Their growth and development are concerned and cared by all aspects of the society,and the standard of their qualities and abilities influences thousands of families and the whole society.The stage of freshman is central to college students’becoming a talent,in such a stage,college students’problems in suitability are comparatively prominent.Whether these problems can be correctly recognized and properly handled,and then their scientific thoughts and concepts are built up,and favorable habits in study and everyday life are formed,are related to their growth and development in the whole stage of university life.For this reason,deeply researching college freshman’s problems in adapting themselves to the new environment has both pretty important significance in theory and comparatively strong significance in practice.This research is named "The Problems of College Freshman’s Suitability and Countermeasures",which deeply analyzes current college freshman’s problems in adapting the new environment and reasons for them,then proposes corresponding solutions.This thesis involves four parts:In the first part,the significance of adaptive education for college freshman is elaborated.Such education will help college freshman accomplish the transformation of patterns of study,life and interpersonal association;and thus help them grow up,become talents and develop comprehensively.In the second part, based on empirical investigation,the problems of college freshman’s suitability is described in following four aspects:Firstly,it’s difficult for a part of college freshman to adapt themselves to the manner and environment of study at college.Secondly,a part of college freshman have great trouble in adapting themselves to the new environment of college life.Thirdly,for a part of college freshman,to adapt themselves to the new environment of interpersonal association is laborious.Finally,the psychological qualities of a part of college freshman are unfit for the requirements of the new environment.In the third part,the reasons for problems discoursed above are analyzed.The reasons for these problems are complex and integrated,however,the key reasons are discussed as follows:Firstly,the culturing of students’ability to adapt in various aspects has not been valued enough by primary and secondary schools.Secondly,the relevance and effectiveness of entrance education towards college freshman in some colleges and universities are not strong enough.Thirdly, sons and daughters’ability to adapt in various aspects has not been effectively cultured by families concerned.Finally,college freshman’s initiative in adapting to the new environment and the new role has not been fully played.In the fourth part,in connection with the problems and reasons discussed above,solutions are discussed in such four aspects:Firstly,primary and secondary schools ought to endeavor to cultivate students’ ability to adapt themselves to all respects in the society.Secondly,colleges and universities should guide and help college freshman to adapt themselves to the new environment and the new role.Thirdly,families should be guided to consciously cultivate sons and daughters’ ability to adapt themselves to every aspect of the environment.Last but not least,college freshman themselves should fully employ their own initiative,consciousness and creativity in the process of adaptation.
