In the background of harmonious society, the program of the handicapped is an importantpart of socialism; it embodies the national spirit of Chinese Nation and reflects the civilization ofsociety. Students who are the deaf and dumb are vulnerable groups in society, but they arealso the members of Chinese Nation, they should also be treated as common people, takeappropriate exercises and share educational resource with the whole nation. Compared with thephysical education in ordinary school, fewer studies focus on physical education of thehearing-impaired, scholars pay more attention to it as society develops, and Special Educationand physical education of the handicapped will have more opportunities and development.Therefore, the study on relationship between physical exercises and social adaptive capacity ofthe handicapped has important practical significance.Combining relative theories of social psychology, social adaptive capacity and physicalexercises, the author starts research from the perspective of social adaptive capacity and socialpsychology. By using the research method of literature, questionnaire, interviews andmathematical statics, the author studies the effect of physical exercises on the social adaptivecapacity of the handicapped. The conclusions are as follows:1The social adaptive capacity of the hearing-impaired is prior to ordinary student. Through thesurvey, the social adaptive capacity of the hearing-impaired in Special school in south and westof Shandong province is always weak, they can not well adapt to highly developed society.2Physical exercises can not be well noticed by the hearing-impaired. The survey shows that themotive or purpose of physical exercise of the hearing-impaired is not clear enough anddiversified. Most of the handicapped students have not the participation or interests of physicalexercises and ignores one’s improvement and growth, which restricts students’ social adaptivecapacity.3Special school could not free itself from backwardness of material conditions. The researchshows the shortage of facilities and equipments and a lack of funds.4Physical exercises can promote the development of hearing-impaired students’ social adaptivecapacity physiologically and mentally. Through physical exercises, the handicapped studentscan enhance their social adaptive ability in complicated circumstances and have a better living.5The teaching mode of P.E is much or less rigid and the content is not rich enough, it can notteach handicapped student in accordance with students’ aptitude. Traditional teaching mode inthe south and west of Shandong province is rigid and the class is not students-oriented. Theinstruction on handicapped students has similarities and difference with ordinary teaching.
