New curriculum reformation focuses on the development of students’ attitudes andvalues and penetrates them into English Teaching. The new English curriculumstandards put great emphasis on language learning motivation. English curriculumstandards require teachers to foster students ’ learning motivation, strengthen thestudents’ interests and enable them to establish self-confidence. I think the research onstudents’ learning motivation is very instructive.This thesis researches the types of learning motivation and their teachers’influential factors by the method of interviews and questionnaires. The results show thatEnglish learning motivation of middle school students due to four factors: intrinsicinterest, personal development, external pressure, and achievement motivation."Intrinsic interest" and "personal development" belongs to the student’s internalmotivation, and "external pressure "and" achievement motivation" belongs to student’sexternal motivation. Teacher factors of students’ English learning motivation include thepersonality of teachers, teacher-student relationship and teaching ability. Teacher factorsand student motivation are significantly correlated.
