Nowadays, under the high speed of social development in China, the traditional education philosophy and the characteristics of scientific methods, education is developing rapidly with marvellous results, creating outstanding achievements! But at the same time, education has also become the activator of some inharmonious social phenomena to some extent. Education is seen as a kind of burden. Schools are called "the cradle of stifling humanity". Furthermore, some experts point out that the education is on the edge of cliff and going to be terminated with the ending of philosophy. Even if the opinions above are too pessimistic, the problems of education should be treated seriously and solved as soon as possible. Education should be reformed and needs change!The modern education system, influenced by Confucius, can’t be saved by itself or reconstructed according to the western education system, which does not match our national conditions and educational practice. Therefore, the author proposes to adapt and integrate from Lao-tzu’s philosophy. Lao-tzu’s article talks about ancient times, but can be used as a guidance of nowadays. He is not only a thinker but also an educationalist. Lao-tzu’s philosophy is full of educational wisdom. He advocated the theme of morality education-"the best moral is without morality and the worst moral is to with morality", the method of education by "education is not a moralizing lecture". The outlook of naturalism and the educational principle of logical discussion, which would be a good philosophy to guide modern Chinese education. This thesis tries to broaden the vision of research about Lao-tzu, to find a better educational philosophy, to optimize his research into educational philosophy, and to aid the Confucius educational philosophy in which to enrich Lao-tzu’s. The author hopes to prescribe, for the modern Chinese education system, and to solve the problems such as utilitarianism; education alienation; old-fashion education practices; the unfair structure of education; and morality crisis, also tries to find new a philosophy resource for the overall and sustainable development of Chinese education. Lao-tzu’s philosophy inspires us and brings forward new and higher demands of change and reform in the development of education. This paper reviews Lao-tzu’s educational philosophy of "complying with law and being in harmony with nature", helping the readers to comply with the the law consciously, to understand the necessity of change and reform in education.To change the traditional and backward educational system, thus building up a new system fits for modern education and to improve the talents of those who are accustomed to modern society.Consisting of Seven parts;"introduction";"his book core philosophy and philosophical theology of education";"Lao-tzu’s philosophical subjectivity of education";"Lao-tzu’s philosophical methodology of education";"Meditation of Lao-tzu’s educational philosophy in modern times"; and "Conclusions".In introduction, the author describes the practical meaning and modern value of Lao-tzu’s philosophy for solving problems with current Chinese education by elaborating existing problems, constantly developing the requirements of education, bringing forward questions and determines the research and means needed.Lao-tzu, his book and his core philosophy and his educational philosophy are systematically discussed in "Lao-tzu". the author proves whether Lao-tzu’s educational philosophy exists or not. Eliminating the misunderstandings of Lao-tzu’s educational philosophy, and clarifies the characteristics. From chapter two to five, the author mainly explores Lao-tzu’s educational philosophy with an aim to discussing Lao-tzu’s philosophical theology of education, philosophical subjectivity of education, philosophical methodology of education and the Lao-tzu’s educational philosophy of education in modern times respectivel.
