Research On Concept Guidance Of University Students Based On Patriotism Education

National reunification is the fundamental interests of the Chinese nation and theimportant security for China’s development. To achieve complete national reunification is thehistorical inevitability of the great rejuvenation of Chinese nation, and is the commonaspiration of all Chinese. Hong Kong and Macao have already returned to the motherland. Atpresent, the aim of national reunification is to resolve Taiwan issue. As new force for nationalreunification, university students should be the model of national reunification and struggleagainst with all reunification destruction of ideology and conducts. And they should maketheir contributions to the prosperity, development and the realization of national reunification.For the reality, however, contemporary university students know insufficiently aboutTaiwan issue. For example, they don’t have a general understanding about the historicaldevelopment of cross-strait, can’t know clearly about policies of the mainland on Taiwan atvarious stages, and even can’t fully understand the complexity and arduousness of resolvingthe Taiwan issue. This article makes research on cognition deficiency about Taiwan issue ofuniversity students, analyzes reasons about the current situation from different aspects, andproposes that the directional role of ideological and political education of university studentsshould be strengthened under the goal of national reunification. The present educational modeand contents are reformed, the understanding about Taiwan issue of university students shouldbe pertinently strengthened, education of the socialist core value system should be in fullswing, especially of patriotism, the sense of historical identity and mission of universitystudents should be improved and the concept of national defense education should be furtherstrengthened. The directional role of ideological and political education should be improved.And university students should realize that national reunification and development are higherthan all and their due contribution should be made to the construction of socialism withChinese characteristics.
