Learning needs is both the starting point for the learning of students and the basis of teachers’classroom instructional design activities. Understanding and analyzing of students’ learning needsare necessary preconditions for high quality and efficient classroom teaching.Grasping the satisfaction of high school students’mathematics learning needs in a timelymanner and exploring the ways and means to meet students’learning needs better by improvingteaching status not only contribute to an overall improvement in the quality of teaching and all-rounddevelopment of students, but also help to promote transformations of the traditional teachingphilosophy and teaching methods, to promote the development of the basic education curriculumand teaching reform, to really implement and practice a new philosophy of education. Meanwhile, the students’ learning needs and classroom teaching practice inspire each other in a dynamicallyway, in-depth research of learning needs is also conducive to the expansion and extension of thefield of educational psychology research. This study is based on modern pedagogy and psychology, with the help of modern curriculumtheory and theory of mathematics teaching, mathematical learning theory, expanded with practice, researched via document analysis, questionnaire surveys and other methods.First, learning needs are described theoretically by the document analysis method, the mainanalysis includes the concept of needs and the concept of learning needs, the concept ofsatisfaction of learning needs, the type of learning needs, several major class type of the secondaryschool classroom teaching, the analysis of learning needs and methods of learning needs analysis, role of learning needs in middle school mathematics teaching and the theoretical basis of this study.Secondly, on the basis of the theoretical study of learning needs and the Maslow’s need theory,Rogers’ humanistic theory, self-determination theory, combined with the new curriculum standards, classroom teaching practice and the investigation, high school students’mathematics learningneeds are divided to nine parts includes inquiry needs (i.e., the need for knowledge),self-improvement needs, performance needs, the need of understanding and emotion regulation, the need for love, domination and the need for self-control, needs of classroom strategies, theneed of classroom resources. Then they are divided into 20 specific areas:needs of mathematicalknowledge, deepen knowledge and understanding needs, needs of speaking examples detailed; theneed of problem types; self-improvement needs self-expression needs in classroom; needs oftalking about new lessons form; episode chat topic needs; needs for help; needs for concern andrecognized; needs for independent time; needs of self-punishment, the order needs; needs of thelearning feedback, the need for self-realization; needs of problem solving skills, teaching strategies’needs, learning strategies’needs; the need of teaching media, the need for teachers’quality Then, I gained the degree of high school students’mathematics classroom learning needs, theorder of the satisfaction of learning needs, the details of high school students learning needs and thedifference of satisfaction between grades, genders, learning levels via the analysis of questionnairesurvey of randomly selected high school students. It turned out that the primary of students’needs isthe need of the excellent quality of teachers, and that teachers are still the key factor of mathematicsteaching. The total mathematics learning needs go down as the grade comes up; the differences ofearning needs between genders and learning levels are slight. Finally, based on the investigation in the third chapter, the analysis in the fourth chapter, characteristics of high school mathematics teaching and age and psychological characteristics ofhigh school students, combined with some relevant theories in the course of the study, as well as myown experience from many years middle and high school mathematics teaching, I tried to put up astrategy to develop and satisfy high school students mathematics classroom learning needs.
