Low achievers’learning difficulties are a universal phenomenon in the Junior MiddleSchool, which is hindering the progress of these students, restricting the quality of education.In our city since September, 2007, the educational system has been transformed from 4 yearsto 3 years, in Junior Middle School, the new textbooks are more complicated than before,moreover the all-round education was emphasized, and we have less English class period三,but students have more free time after class. Under the influence of the negative aspects fromthe society (such as the Internet), the percent of low achievers has increased. So it’s essentialto find good ways to transform the low achievers.The thesis aims to explore and carry out the group cooperative learning promoting 3changes. The first is the teachers’educational views and teaching method, the second is thechange of students’learning pattern, the third is the change of evaluation to the students. Inthis study, a questionnaire which 96 low achievers of 8-year Grade have been surveyed isemployed to find out the causes of the low achievers. An experimental study to 32 students isadministered to test the method is effective or not .Owing to the group cooperative learning,the low achievers have more confidence and desire to learn English.By putting forward and solving the question, the study is expected to shed some lights ontransforming the English low achievers in Junior Middle School .
