Research On The Interactive Embeddedness Between Social Work Specialty In The Universities And Civil Organization

Since the1980s, the social work specialty has developed for20years in ourcountry. In the process of development we have made some achievements, but thereare still a lot of shortages. And it’s a predicament that the social workprofessionalization lags behind the social work specialization. In recent years, thereare some social work organizations appearing in some parts of our country, whichplay an important part in absorbing the social work professional talents and promotingthe social work specialty and it caused universal attention from all walks of life. Butbecause of the uneven development of the regions, such kinds of organizations mainlyfocus on developed areas, which have some limitations for experience promotion. Inface of the development needs of social work profession, taking advantage of theestablished civil organizations and the positive role of the social work specialty inuniversities and stimulating the mutual embeddedness of civil organizations andsocial work specialty becomes an important way for social work professionalization.This article selects Xinyu volunteers association in Changchun city, Jilinprovince as a typical case, analyzing the background of establishment, operationmodel, service, organization characteristics and etc. We summarized the problems anddifficulties in the process of development and combined with the relevantinvestigations of social work in colleges and universities and put forward somecountermeasures. The author thinks that the combination of civil organization andsocial work specialty not only can promote and perfect the civil organizationmanagement and service and also can offer internship opportunities for students whostudy social work specialty and enhance the professional identity. The author has studied and sorted out some theories of civill organizations andsocial work relationship, and found that as an important carrier for social workers toplay a role, civill organizations extended the field of social work services, andpromoted the professionalization of social work. Meanwhile, by using its professionaltheories and methods, the social work specialty helped civil organizations to improveservice quality, widen the fields of services, and strengthen supervision andmanagement of organizations. Based on the above conclusion, this paper introducedthe concept of embeddendness. Embeddendness is a kind of connection between twothings. In the embedding process, the embedded party will be impacted by the otherparty to take ways like obtain cognition, action strategies and coordinated manner tofinish embedding. Eventually, the embedded subject will be integrated into the object,altogether the two parties change in the awareness and action levels, showing thecharacteristics as a formed community.After combining of the key concepts and theories, the author expounded thefeasibility, construction, and the possible problems and countermeasures of mutuallyembedded. Social work specialty and civil organizations share the same purpose ofservice. Social work can help civil organizations to enhance the professional service,to expand service areas and to assist civil organizations to improve servicesupervision and evaluation. The author demonstrated the feasibility of mutuallyembedded from the above aspects, subsequently did some rational demonstration ofthe subject, target, principle and strategies of embeddendness. Finally, the authormade analysis and tried to give effective ways of the likely crisis of confidence,legitimacy dilemma, and the community recognition in the mutually embedded ofuniversity social work specialty and civil organizations.
