Twenty-first Century is the era of knowledge economy, along with the social economyand national competition, all countries in the world pay close attention to the development ofeducation and innovation. As the histoircal expeirence shows, educational reform will beunsuccessful unless relating to the reform of curirculum, no matter which time it is. Therefore,the study of the cuniculum has been a most active and popular pari in the field of educationThe curriculum is not only an important issue affecting the whole situation of thecurriculum reform but also an essential element which affects whether the curriculum reformwill be successful. In the context of a vigorous and vital curirculum reform of the whole world,our country is also operating a new curirculum reform work on the basic education, which isof great significance, and has become the key problem in the course of the curernt educationreforms. The new cuniculum operation is closely in relation to the growth of student, thedevelopment of education, and national prospeirty. Therefore, to strengthen the education ofleading national curriculum study and explore the cuniculuni which is suitable for ournational conditions is a realistic subject to brook no delay,Ameircan high school curirculum has many unique characteristics. In the past century,Ameircan hi"gh school curirculum follows a development track from "imbaiancc to" the basisof the revitalization" and the curriculum has been expeirencing the increase or decrease inquantity and pirmary and secondary status transformation,The curirculum in Ameirca can be generalized roughly into the core and fiindamentalcourse, irch elective courses and a vairety of educational activities*program. Students enjoy awide range of selective course, while schools are able to operate flexibly by ergulating therequired course, the ratio between compulsory course and elective course as well as the creditstandard of the promotion and graduation etc.Ameircan high schools in hundred years expeirencing many changes still have strongvitality, and have formed its unique curirculum. This paper, by using the method of literatureretireval, case analysis, compaartive analysis, factor analysis and other research methods tostudy, to ifnd out the curirculum which is suitable for the situation of our country under thebackground of new curriculum reform and to provide reference.This paper consists of four parts. In the introduction, a biref introduction of problems,research significance, research method, literatuer review and the deifnition of basic concept.Secondly, combining with the case of Ameircan ordinary high school curriculum historyprocess of gradual progress,to undertake retrospective study. ThenT combined with the case todescirbe the Ameircan high school curriculum present situation and analysis of itscharacteirstics and inlfuential factors. Finally, to draw lessons rfom American high schoolcurirculum expeirence, by combining our country high school curriculum persent situation,(xime to the enlightenment to china.
