An Applied Research Of Theme Based Collaborative Virtual Learning Community In The Wiki Environment

Along with the rapid development of the information technology and network technology, people nolonger just learning depends on traditional classroom teaching. virtual learning community has become anew type of network teaching support platform of distance education. Virtual learning community hasbecome a new type of network teaching support platform of distance education. In recent years, a largenumber of virtual learning community emerged in China. But look from whole, developed by BBS, thevirtual learning community’s technology is too single and can’t effective support learner’s learning. It onlyemphasized on how to complete the co11aborative learning, but not on how to launch the collaborativecreation through the sharing and discussion. It limits the further development of the virtual learningcommunity in the network education.This article argues that it should focus on training the learners’ subjective initiative in virtual learningcommunity which is a informal learning environment, and should change passively accept knowledge intocreate knowledge actively. The Wiki technology emphasize on collaborative creation for group of clubs,reflecting the concept of active creation. This paper introduced the concept of Wiki into the built of virtuallearning community. Taking Theme Based Learning and Co11aborative Learning as a guide, for the designof collaborative creation process,and which can solve the problems of traditional virtual learningcommunity. Letting the virtual learning community educate learners’ cooperation consciousness andinnovative spirit effectively, fully mobilize the enthusiasm of learners and improve the quality of them,collaborative create in the discussion.This paper first research on the basic theory of the Theme Based Learning and Cooperative Learning,combined their characteristics and for the purpose of collaborative creation, Putting forward the concept ofTheme Based Collaborative Learning and analyzing the elements of the concept. Then, make a research ofthe current situation of existing network teaching platform, and analysis the feasibility of building Themebased collaborative virtual learning community in the Wiki environment. And then, built the model ofTheme based collaborative virtual learning community in the Wiki environment based on the analysis ofthe investigation. At last, this paper developed a concrete co-construction system of virtual learning community named “Co-construction Virtual Community”, to verify the effectiveness of the collaborativecreation.
