The Burden problem in the basic education has been one of the hot issues of the society. Reducing students’Burden has important significance to their healthy growth, the ability of comprehensive development andinnovation. The eighth basic education curriculum reform (hereinafter referred to as the "new curriculum") hasbeen implemented more than ten years. It now has entered a stage of deepening. The original intention of thenew curriculum introduced is going to better promote the implementation of quality education, to better promotethe development and growth of the majority of young people. New curriculum was complemented by a strongsense of "burden lightening", but with the new curriculum to promote, the excessively heavy homework andschool problems still exist in some areas. This aroused controversy towards the new curriculum reform andquality education as well as on "burden lightening" problem of attention. The scholars also began a new round ofdiscussion and research on the problem of academic burden. Currently, everyone to "burden reduction" becomesmore and more rational and three-dimensional. But there are still certain issues that require further inquiry. Weneed to find another kind of thinking to reduce the burden. This study is going to undertake the predecessors ofexisting knowledge and rational thinking, and try to start from the internal attributes of the academic burden onstudents to explore the irrational structure of students’ academic burden, to find the lack of students’ study quality,and to discuss the legitimacy of the academic burden and the need for optimization of academic burden, whichare closely linked with the academic burden on students.Be the basis of the detailed interpretation of the connotation of academic burden, according to the policyrelated to the academic burden, surveys, reports, case studies to analyze the current status quo of China’sacademic burden on students can better identify the current problems in the academic burden on students. Somestudents do bear the Burden, and academic pressure is too great to affect the health of students. However, thissituation does not enable us to deny that the rationality and legitimacy of moderate academic burden. Part ofstudents’ academic burden is too heavy indeed. There are several reasons on this issue. The structure of academicburden on students is imbalance. Now several students are lack of the good capacity to cope with the academicburden greatly. So the pressure on students becomes heavier. Throughout the academic burden on the status quo,we can see the structure of the academic burden on students to be optimized, the quality of the academic burdenhas yet to be improved. This research tries to propose the following strategies. First, we should update our concepts of education. Then we should optimize the academic structure and optimize the quality of studentlearning to meet to students’ actual learning need.
