Study On The Changes Of Life-style Of Landless Farmers In The Process Of Urbanization

It is widely been concerned that the problems of landless farmers. From the three dimensions of production and consumption, living environment, and social contact, the old group of landless farmers in town of Y is the sample in the research of this thesis with life-style theory. The key point in this thesis is that production and consumption is the basic factor for old landless farmers’ life-style. Their life-style changes after land lost. Their life-style would change without land. That means a hard life. Because that old landless farmers have to learn too much city things to coordinate their life.First of all, dissertation discusses the changes of old landless farmers’production and consumption. There is a high level of economic development in the south of Jiangsu Province, and its traditional life-style disappeared quickly. Which leads consequences on old landless farmers were their economic security changed. Although the pension and support from their children are still play economic security function for them, their old consumer attitudes uncoordinated a new consumer lifestyle in the city.Secondly, discussing changes of family inhabited environments. In the context of urbanization, the number of core family rapidly increasing. And various types of contradictions within the family easily intensified firstly. Secondly, because of the changes on facilities, old landless farmers have to learn how to use the Household appliances and familiar with community facilities. Which of is the background for coordination from the old landless farmers.At last, Life content and way of contacts directly influence satisfaction of the age’s life. Original living support network was broken after the land acquisition and demolition. In the new community the elderly peasants turned to a leisure life and looked for new communication group, which founded on a common hobby. In all, the dissertation study the main difficulties and influencing factors in the progress when the landless peasants establish their new life. In our opinion, Family-based support for the elders is more suitable. Based on our research, the paper pointed out some policy suggestions.
