With the improvement of living standards, people’s demand for education especially for high-quality educational resources in primary and secondary schools is booming. However, due to long years of education in primary schools, massive teaching content and large span, the growth cycle of teachers is comparatively long. Therefore, how to help teachers grow as expert teachers and form a cohesive educational force needs to be solved urgently. The previous researches mainly compare the essential qualities of expert teachers horizontally, but for lack of longitudinal study of teachers’ growth process between one or a few teachers, the conclusions seems empty, abstract, not specific and lack of operability, not enough to draw the majority of teachers in real situations. So, the object of the study is Liu Xia——a primary mathematical expert teachers. The thesis gives a reasonable explanation of expert teachers’ professional growth with archival research, narrative research, interview and so on. With vivid and specific forms, it tries to display growing courses of the individual in front of the readers and then discusses the growth stage of the expert teachers, the factors which affects the growth of expert teachers and hope to provide a growth path of becoming expert teachers for primary mathematical teachers.The first part introduces the background, significance, thoughts and methods of this research.The second part is about the definition of expert teachers and the current research condition of expert teachers’ growth at home and abroad.The third part constructs Liu Xia teacher’s educational and teaching stories and teaching cases according to her teaching diaries and interviews; goes deep into Miss Liu’s growth experience with the help of the life experience, educational and teaching stories, teaching cases and the analysis of the interview collected from Miss Liu; and explains the growth process of expert teachers with a serious and practical attitude.The fourth part discusses the growth stage of the expert teachers; analyzes the internal and external factors which affects the growth of expert teachers; the growth path of expert teachers.The fifth part is the concluding remarks.
