A new curriculum reform demands an all-round transformation of traditional teachers in teaching perception, teaching thought and teaching means, and grow up to be expert teachers adapting to new situation. However, the growth of teachers is overlooked for long, and there is no systematic research of strategic research on the cultivation of expert teachers. This essay aims at using document analysis, participating observation, interview and logic analysis, etc. to study expert teachers' characters and elements that influence the cultivation of expert teachers systematically and discusses the road of the growth of expert teacher on basis of the study.The whole essay is divided into five parts:Part one, preface. Introduce the reasons, significance, and research methods of the research on the growth of expert teachers.Part two, the definition and characters of expert teachers. The essay defines expert teachers and summaries their characters on the basis of analyzing present ideas on expert teachers. We hold the view that expert teachers are those who can control the teaching process effectively and artistically, and who have unique experience toward teaching profession and activities. Their lives embody specialization, research, art and joviality.Part three, the analysis of the limiting factors of the growth of expert teachers. It includes the analysis of internal and external factors. The external ones consist of material level, system level, value level and cultural level. As to internal ones, it analyses the value of teachers, professional knowledge and skills around the teachers' competence.
