By the rapid expansion of higher education in recent years, the group of postgraduatestudent constantly strong, and accompanied by the problem of the postgraduate students’major identity.It will effect many aspects, and will influence the postgraduate students’quality directly, so the research of postgraduate students’ major identity is important andmeaningful.But now the research of postgraduate students’ major identity in China is veryweak,scholars pay more attention to the major identity of the undergraduate students, or theidentity of some specialized occupations.And there’s a few scientific measure tool forpostgraduate students’ major identity. On that account, I start the research of postgraduatestudents’ major identity,to discuss the postgraduate students’ major identity’s currentsituation, influencing factors and the relationship between the postgraduate students’ majoridentity and career planing.I hope my research can be helpful to improve thepostgraduate students’ major identity. The thesis has seven sections.The first section is introduction. This part describes the reasons of choosing thistheme; its meaning and purpose; the research ideas and methods; the whole researchframework and process. This section describes all of these to facilitate readers to masterthe skeleton.The second section is literature review. It establishes an orderly system of theliteratures of identity, such as the concept definition, correlation theory, current situationsof the research at home and abroad. On this foundation, according to the deficiency of theprevious studies,I point out the research’s starting point. By the literature study, I find that,the research about the postgraduate students’ major identity is lack. So it’s a good researchblank spot.The third section is questionnaire scale compilation. It contains subject collection,preliminary testing, formal testing, exploration of questionnaire structure and test ofquestionnaire. The result exposits that questionnaires all have good reliability and validity. The forth section is the research of the current situation of postgraduate students’major identity and influencing factors. This chapter use descriptive statistic analysis,correlation analysis and stepwise multiple regression analysis to analyze data. The resultexposits the total level of postgraduate students’ major identity is not high. And theenvironmental factor and the tutor factor have significant effect on the postgraduatestudents’ major identity, especially the environmental factor.The fifth section is the relationship between the postgraduate students’ major identityand the career planing. The result exposits that there are positive correlations betweenthem.And the three factors of major identity: major fitness, major cognition, majorbehavior can forecast the career planing.The sixth section is conclusion and suggestion. It summarizes all research conclusions,and point out suggestions of improving the postgraduate students’ major identity. It alsoelaborates the innovations and shortages of this research, and the research prospect.
