The Research Of Influencing Factors On University Students Participate In Voluntary Service In Sichuan

On2008Beijing Olympic Games, our university student volunteers’brilliant voluntary service gave people from all over the world more deep impressions than this most successful sport meeting our country held. Without the effort of university student volunteers, the Olympic Games does not ring down the curtain so successful. Their faithful service and smiles do not only let the people around the world recognize a new friendly China, but make the concept of university student volunteers walk into horizons of our people. However, with the end of Beijing Olympic Games,the trend of voluntary service does not spead in nationwide and become a common phenomenon. We only see university student volunteers in large scale activities and disaster events, the great social value of university student volunteers has not been explored completely yet.The earliest voluntary service appeared in Western countries. It was a kind of charity behavior at first. Then because of the key role voluntary service played in softening social contradiction and making up the shortcoming of governmental administration, it became a supplement of the system of social security in developed countries and areas. In our country, the start of voluntary service lately, the development of voluntary service still has a lot of problems, such as lackage of voluntary service environment, poor management of voluntary service organization and so on. In recent years, the government begins recognizing the effect in constructing harmonious society and social security and emphasizing the construction of our country voluntary service system, but for our special country situation, the development of voluntary service has a long way to go.The unique characteristics of university students determine that they will be the main force of volunteers. Meanwhile, they are respected badly by people in society and they often lead social behavior orientation. Therefore, in the thesis, university students are the research subject. Through researching which factors may connect with the desire and behavior of voluntary service of university students, then finding the obstacles of participating in voluntary service and putting forward countermeasures, in order to encourage more and more university students join in voluntary service and realize its great social value.
