Research On Setting Up Professional Direction Of Wushu Performance In Beijing Sport University

By using the methods of documents researching, expert interview, questionnaire survey and mathematical statistics, this paper studied the possibility and feasibility of setting up a Branch of Professional Wushu Performance in Beijing Sport University. What’s more, this paper tried to build a framework of the courses of the major field which is professionally designed and offered theory basis for the university to setting up such a course. According to the research the main findings are as follows:(1) Wushu Performance is a form of traditional sport performances which can show the audience the skills or plot of Wushu through forms like stage and movies.(2) Nowadays, the Wushu performers can not fully meet the needs of the Wushu performance market in both quality and quantity. Because of the needs of the society, it’s necessary for Beijing Sport University to set up the branch of Professional Wushu Performance and supply qualified performers for the market.(3) Setting up the branch of Professional Wushu Performance in Beijing Sport University accords with the requirement of our country’s education reform and developing plan in Mid-Long term. Both the software and hardware of the university can fulfil the requirement of setting up the branch. And those which can not fulfil yet can be solved through feasible methods. Therefore, setting up a branch of professional Wushu performance in Beijing Sport University is feasible.(4) The branch of professional Wushu performance is designed under the Major of traditional Chinese Sport " which is also named the Major of Wushu and traditional Chinese Sport " in the newly published menu of majors in Bachelors Degree in2011. In the passage, this paper made the goal of the branch as following:"fully developed in virtue, wisdom and strength, equipped with basic theory of Marxism, fulfilled with basic theory, skills and capacity of traditional Chinese sport and Wushu Performance, and prepared with ability in performance which can help them find a job in Movie Corp, Professional Performance Group, Cultural Media, School and organizations in charge of performing, directing, teaching and organizing.(5) The public basic knowledge courses of the Wushu Performance is the same with those of the Beijing Sport University nowadays. And the professional basic knowledges are designed as following:the psychology, Sports, Chinese Literature. The professional knowledges are designed in4directions like aesthetic and sport, and the support ones include9types of knowledge such as theory of Sports,Performance, Education, Practice of Sports. Students in this major should be capable in following fields:Performing, Directing, Teaching, Organizing and Scientific Research.(6) The Scientific compulsory courses for the branch of professional Wushu performance include7subjects such as Chinese Culture Theory, Psychology in Performing and so on. The Professional compulsory courses in Wushu Performance include14courses, the professional optional courses include27courses. The practices include7steps. Wushu performance Major’s period is4years, and a bachelor degree is given. The total credits are between160-165, and the credit hours are between2650-2700.
