The rapid development of science and technology promotes the Internet to be widespread in various areas of social life, which plays an irreplaceable role in human survival and development. It is not only a new way and space for the comprehensive development of human, but also a way to bring people to the era of information network. The explosion of knowledge and information, the efficiency of transmission and the indirectness of human communication have become the hallmarks of the era. The development of Internet has become a sign of the progress of human society, which throws hope to the college ideological and political education. But at the same time, we must treat it dialectically. In other words, the network brings a range of advantages and opportunities, while it also produces impact and challenges that never experienced. With the most intensive Internet users, how to face the opportunities and challenges brought about by the Internet and how to adapt to the needs of social development are the key problem for the high school to make ideological and political education in the transition to the modern direction.Based on the influence of the network on society and ideological situation of the contemporary college students, this paper analyzed the opportunities and challenges brought about by the network which is considered as a new carrier of ideological and political education of college. Finally, it is clearly pointed out that, in the face of all the new opportunities and challenges, we must realize the transformation of the ideological and political education to the direction of modernization. The paper is divided into five parts:Chapter1is introduction. This part mainly shows the background, significance, research status, the basic content and methods of this topic. The content of this part is the premise of the study.Chapter2shows that the Internet is the new position of the college ideological and political education. As soon as it produced, the network affects the development of human society with its enormous energy. In China, the university is pioneer and forerunner of the network’s rapid development. With the popularity of network application, the number of college students who access to the Internet is increasing. Network plays an important role in the students’mode of thinking, the orientation of value goal and the concept of moral character. The network has become one of the most important positions for the college to fulfill its own development in the ideological and political education in the new era. The main content of this chapter includes:the meaning of the network and its basic features and basic functions; the influence of network on the lives of contemporary college students; network as the most valuable new carrier of ideological and political education; the new face of ideological and political education in the context of the network era in content, methods, nature, characteristics and so on.Chapter3discusses the inevitable challenges and opportunities that the high school ideological and political education must face in internet era. Network has brought unprecedented opportunities and challenges for the development of ideological and political education. The diversity of network improves the infection of the college ideological and political education; the globalization of educational information and resources enriches the content of the ideological and political education; the advanced educational technology provides strong support for software development of ideological and political education; Target-oriented education improves the pertinence of educational activities. But the Internet also makes the development of ideological and political education face enormous challenges in the new era. The threat by the dominant position of English information in the internet to the mainstream ideology of China; the formation of the superficial network way of thinking; the reduction of the authority of the traditional ideological and political education in varying degrees; the appearance of the network demoralization and the lag in terms of the development of related laws and regulations; the influence and impact on the contemporary university students’hearts and the spiritual world; the formation of new rules for educators in the new era. Therefore, facing new situations and new problems, we must promptly adjust the development ideas of the ideological and political education, and endow it with era significance to enhance its modernizationChapter4indicates the modernization of the ideological and political education in the internet era must be realized. This part mainly discusses from four aspects:the significance of the change, theoretical basis, basic principles and basic content. First, it is about the significance of the modernization transition. This shift is the needs of times, the intrinsic needs of human modernization, the guarantee of the direction of educational modernization and as well as a necessary complement to the traditional ideological and political education. The second is the theoretical basis of the transformation. It analyzes the guidance of Marxism scientific system, theories of socialist spiritual civilization of theory and modern social development in the modernization of ideological and political education. Third, the paper shows the basic principles of the change, which must be followed in order to achieve a smooth transition. The principles includes scientific direction, the combination of theory and actuality, the combination of domination and the diversity and the combination of online penetration and offline incentives. Fourth is about the content of the transformation. It mainly includes the concept, content, tools, and assessment of modernization.The conclusion mainly summarizes and elevates the content of the full-text.
