Home-school Communication refers to the information transmission and exchange of ideas between home and school. By this means, home and school, for the common education goal, can understand one another and collaborate with each other. The satisfaction of home-school communication refers to the consistency between the expect condition, effect and actual condition, effect about home-school communication. In recent years, home-school communication has always been a hot topic in the research field. It directly or indirectly affects the students’development and the quality of education. Parents and teachers are the main bodies of home-school communication. Understanding the satisfaction of home-school communication can provide a good reference to improve the present situation about home-school communication in special schools.In this paper,286parents and152teachers in special schools are selected as the object of this study. Document analysis, questionnaire surveys and interviews are be employed, in order to explore the status of home-school communication and the level of subjects’satisfaction with home-school communication, and examine the demographic characteristic factors that influence the level of home-school communication, then analyze the influencing factors of subjects’satisfaction with home-school communication. The results are as follows:1.The vast majority of parents and teachers are in possession of the correct concept of home-school communication, however, in the practical level:most home-school communication activities belong to the lower-level; the content of home-school communication is one-sided; the ways of home-school communication are mostly traditional.2.The satisfaction with home-school communication at special schools is above the middle level, but the teachers are more satisfied with home-school communication than the parents.3.The characteristics of home-school communication in special schools are as follows: At the dimensions of home-school communication level, home-school communication effectiveness and the overall satisfaction, parents of self-employed workers are more satisfied than parents engaged in other occupations; At the dimension of home-school communication ways and the overall satisfaction, the parents with master’s degree are more satisfied with home-school communication; At the dimension of home-school communication contents, parents from the nuclear structure families has higher satisfaction with home-school communication,the parents whose family has10,000Yuan income monthly are more satisfied with home-school communication,the parents whose home are not far away from their children’s school are more satisfied with home-school communication;At the dimensions of home-school communication level, home-school communication ways, home-school communication effectives, and the overall home-school communication,the teachers with6-10years teaching experiences are less satisfied; At the dimension of home-school communication level, the teachers that teach lower grade students are more satisfied.7.Parents’satisfaction is influenced by their own occupational、the concept about home-school communication and their own personality characteristics; Teachers’ satisfaction are influenced by the ages of teachers and teaching-grades.
