Home-school communication is the foundation of the cooperation between home and school.If there is no good communication between home and school,there can't be an efficient cooperation between the two.It is self-evident that home-school communication is very important.With the changing times and progress of communication tools,ways to link home and school are also changing.There are many traditional ways for home-school communication,such as parent-teacher meeting,the family visit,and parent-school contact booklet.Although those traditional ways still play their roles in home-school communication,new tools for communication are being used,such as QQ and We-chat.Therefore,this paper focuses on the current situations of the application of We-chat in home-school communication.Besides,in this paper,traditional ways for home-school communication are contrasted to We-chat.Advantages and disadvantages of We-chat have also been analyzed in this paper.Another purpose of this paper is to find out problems of applications of We-chat in home-school communication.After doing a lot of survey and analysis,this paper point out four aspects of problems of the application of We-chat in home-school communication.There are school public We-chat,class public We-chat,We-chat group,We-chat friend and circles of friends.This paper tries to analyze We-chat from the Communication.And it concludes that the advantages of We-chat in home-school communication are as follows.First,information on We-chat can spread quickly.Second,symbols of information on We-chat are various.Third,modes of spreading on We-chat are diverse.Last but not least,information on We-chat can spread in networked way.However,it also has is its disadvantages.Firstly,it lacks interactions on school and class public We-chat.Secondly,because of the linear propagation of We-chat group,important information may be submerged.Thirdly,there is also a contradiction between the sociability of We-chat and the formal of home-school communication.Mechanisms behind the applications We-chat can be concluded as follows.The first theory is uncertainty reduction theory.The second is symbolic interaction theory.The third is gatekeeper theory.Applications of We-chat in home-school communication are in different levels.The theory of gatekeepers can be reflected from school and class public We-chat while the other two theories can be reflected from every application of We-chat.At the end of this paper,improvement strategies are also raised in order to make We-chat a better platform in home-school communication and cooperation,thus forming resultant force,promoting the better growth of students.
