| To survey the rural primary and middle school students’ learning motivation, parenting style and parent-child relationship, and explore the relationship between study motivation and parenting style parent-child relationship.712students between grade4to grade9are from rural area completed the questionnaire of learning motivation, parenting style, parent-conflict, parent-harmony. The following was the conclusion based on the research:1ã€The whole level of the rural primary and middle school students is low. There are significant differences in gender, grade and developmental stage. According to the statistic analysis about gender difference, it is found that the score of female students show significantly higher than that of male students in academic study, skills, social interactions, general success and self demand; t here is grade difference, grade8shows a lower score than other grades in the all aspects of the study motivation. There is developmental stage difference, the score of Junior school students in social interactions of success is significantly higher than pupils.2ã€There are significant differences of rural primary and middle school students’ parenting styles in gender, grade and developmental stage. There is gender difference, the score of male students show significantly higher than that of female students in parents’ indulgence. There is grade difference, it exists in parents’ authoritarian, trust-encouragement, indulgence and father’s neglecting; There is developmental stage difference, the score of pupils show significantly higher than that of Junior school students in parents’authoritarian, indulgence and mother’s trust-encouragement,but the Junior school students in father’s trust-encouragement is significantly higher than pupils.3ã€There are significant differences of rural primary and middle school students’ parent-child relationship in gender, grade and developmental stage. According to the statistic analysis about gender difference, it is found that the score of female students show significantly higher than that of male students in mother-child harmony,but the male students in parent-child conflict is significantly higher than female students; there is grade difference, it is found that the grade8shows a lower score than other grades in parent-child conflict; There is developmental stage difference, the score of Junior school students show significantly higher than that of pupils in father-child harmony and parent-child conflict.4ã€We found that the father’ trust-encouragement and mother’ affection-wormed had significant positive effect on the study motivation; the parents’ neglecting and mother’ authoritarian had significant negative effect on the study motivation.5ã€The parent-child harmony of the rural primary and middle school students had significant positive effect on the study motivation, parent-child conflict had significant negative effect on the study motivation.6ã€The parent-child relationship had an impact on parenting style and the study motivation, and it played an intermediary role in the relationship between parenting style and the study motivation. |
