With the advance in new curriculum reform and rapiddevelopment of information technology, it is necessary and essentialthat we conduct research on teaching and apply informationtechnology into subject teaching. However, with so much research onthe combination of the two, most still remains on a theoretical level,which provides little guidance to teachers who tend to adopt a newteaching method.This article displays several models of teaching current events andpolitics in senior high school with the support of information technologythrough various research methods, such as class observation,questionnaire survey, content analysis and case study. From caseanalysis, it shows the current situation and effectiveness of theapplication of the method. Teachers’ and studnets’understanding of itis also mentioned. More importantly, it pionts out the existing problemsof the new method and suggestions for improvemet are provided aswell.The innovation point of this article is that it combines informationtechnology with the teaching of current events and politics in seniorhigh school, which offers some new models of teaching both thesubject mentioned and other subjects.
