This paper aims to research Marzano classification theory and itsapplication in the Middle School Mathematics Teaching. In this study,the author described Marzano taxonomy theory in detail. On the basisof the research, the author made a comparison between Marzanoclassification theory and classification theory of Bloom about theirsimilarities and the difference, showed that Marzano taxonomy focusesmore on training and development of the thinking ability of students.Based on the Marzano taxonomy theory of Classroom Teaching, theauthor discussed the instructional design in detail, which based onMarzano taxonomy, from guiding ideology, principles, teachingstrategies, the important part of teaching design. Teaching aspects ofthe design includes the design of teaching objectives, learnercharacteristics, the design of the teaching process and teachingevaluation. Based on the teaching design, the factors formed apreliminary model of instructional design. In accordance with theformulation of the model, the author designed some instructionaldesign about fraction multiplication and division and fraction additionand subtraction. In the instructional design, the author focused on theapplication of metacognitive goals and self-system of goal setting andevaluation of the complete rubric method.According to study on the theories and the practices, the authorgot some conclusions:First, teaching objectives, teaching strategies and teachingevaluation design, in Marzano taxonomic theory made it form acomplete set of reasonable education classification system.Second, in the system of educational theory, Marzano taxonomysystem compensated the lack of Bloom theory.Third, Marzano taxonomy as the theoretical principle, the design about the metacognitive goals and self-system goals could improvestudent’s learning ability and promote the development of studentsthinking ability.Forth, the teaching strategies which based on Marzanoclassification focus more on the principal role of students, increasestudents participation in the learning process. Then the studentsbecame the main participants in the learning, which promote thesmooth conduct better of the two-way teaching and learning process.Fifth, the teaching evaluations which based on Marzano classifiedhave more innovative and more versatility, Evaluation of the completerubric can not only promote a comprehensive evaluation on students,but also can stimulate students interest in learning and enhancestudents confidence. |
