The writing ability is the embodiment of Chinese performance, which plays animportant role in Chinese education. Therefore, it’s vital to foster the writing ability inthe primary school. Most of the pupils are bored with writing the composition, thereason why they are not interested in writing are as follows:1) The lack of interests ofpupils2) The lack of proper textbooks for pupils. Thus, the important of editing aseries independent writing textbook is obvious. The author learn the characteristics ofthe textbooks in Britain and get some ideas.This paper carrys the research from the editing foundation, editing structure andteaching content and concludes the set of five characteristics of the teaching material:(1)the independence of writing teaching material;(2) the systematic knowledge;(3)based on constructivism theory;(4) follow the rules of students’ learningcomposition;(5) focus on the practical use of composition.Based on the research, the thesis has drawn the following conclusions:(1) thecomposition teaching material should be systematic;(2) the composition of thecontents of teaching materials should be close to life;(3) the composition teachingmaterial contents should be clear to recognize...This paper uses the literature research, questionnaire method, the case method,the comparison method and other methodology to study the British primary schoolteaching material of composition. Try to show the nature of primary composition inBritain and puts forward some suggestions for Chinese textbooks.
