Cooperation, a kind of ability which is indispensable in this new century plays an important role in social development. Early childhood is the critical period for the training of cooperative ability as children’s social behavior has very strong plasticity. Good cooperation behavior contributes to people’s self-development and realization of their value. Good sense of cooperation and cooperation behavior will lay the foundation for the development of life in the future.Children’s social development is inseparable from the normal peer interaction. Peer interaction is an important way for a child to learn in the process of changing from a natural person into a social person. Children of different ages constitute a miniature society where they would get the feeling of happy experience by cooperating with others. In this process, cooperation behavior gets strengthened and consolidated which would lay the foundation for the internalization and migration of the social behavior. There are great theory significances and practice value in the research about the cooperation behavior of the children at4-6years old. The experiment in this research selects the children of the4th kindergarten, He Xi district, Tianjin, as objects. The experiment named "small trucks" aims at the investigation of the effects with the factors (children’s age, gender, pair mode and so on) on the development of children’s cooperative behavior.Mixed-age education is on the rise in our country as a new mode in early childhood education, but there should be more theory support and practice exploration in this field. The experiment lets children of different ages play together in order to research the effects with this mode on the cooperation behavior and expand a new way to children’s social development. The research shows that:1. There is great interaction between age and cooperative behavior of4-6years old children. The level of children’s cooperative behavior increases with the growth of the age.2. There is great interaction between pair mode and cooperative behavior of4-6years old children. Boy-girl mode is better than boy-boy mode and boy-boy mode is better than girl-girl mode. However the pair with children of different ages is the best.3. Gender is a great influence factor with strategy selection of cooperative behavior. Boys are easy to cooperate with others, while girls show very competitive Characteristic.Based on the analysis, we emphasize that children’s cooperative behavior should be developed with respect of age and gender. Mixed-age games palys an important role in the cultivation of good cooperative behavior. We should also pay attention to the creation of a loose environment which combines children of different ages and sexes.
