The Political And Ideological Education In Universities Under The Direction Of Marx’s Communication Theory

Communication is an important category in Marxism Historical Materialism. Marx, asthe founder of the Historical Materialism, took communication as an important part of hishistorical materialism theory just because of this reason. Marx’s communication theory is animportant component of the Marxist theoretical canon. Therefore, the study of communicationcategory and communication theory can do a better favor to understand, inherite and developMarxist theory. And under the Socialism background with Chinese characteristics, thecommunication theory can be used to analyze and enlighten the present condition of politicaland ideological education in universities.The present political and ideological education must be conducted under the direction ofthe philosophical theory that combined with time, which can be effective and show itspowerful vitality. Compared with traditional political and ideological education,communication political and ideological education in universities pays attetion to studentsthat never seen before, and gives them the chief status in learning. It makes it possible toshare knowledge, resonate with feelings and build wisdom together between teachers andtheir students. In other words, communication political and ideological education inuniversities refers to the many-sided, multilayered, multi-aspected and varied communicationand interaction conducted between many different participants (students&teachers, students&students, students&society, teachers&society) by the mediation of languages, books,knowledge, skills and actions. Such communication and interaction can spur the mutualunderstanding and concern,so the communication political and ideological education can bestarted based on this. Consequently, it is obviously seen that communication political andideological education in universities is a special kind of communicative activity comparedwith other sorts of social communication and practice. In order to achieve communicationpolitical and ideological education in universities, the following points should be considered.First, we must look on students as the starting point and goal of any education, and do ourbest to satisfy their thought requirements, promote their moral standards, encourage theirpolitical progress and finnaly help them to achieve their all-rounded development. What ismore, teachers and students should own respect and concern, because both of them areindependent individuals and main bodies in political and ideological education. Second, wemust stick to the principle of democracy and equality, emphasizing practice and combiningeducation and self-education together. Third, the traditional one-way spoon-fed education will be changed into equal communicative education, and the Western management theory, i.e.basing on sense, interaction and harmony will be applied in education.
