A Study On The Relationship Between The Trigger Factors Of Religious Experience And Life Satisfaction Of College Students

Based on the literature review and the results of the interview, the author of this study explored the concept of college students’ religious experience and the dimension and measuring tool of the trigger factors of religious experience, surveyed the present situation of the trigger factors of religious experience among college students.The author also researched and discussed the relationship between the trigger factors of religious experience and life satisfaction of college students. The main results present as follows:(1)Religious experience refers to the sum of psychological phenomenon which is experienced in religious activities and daily life by people.The psychological phenomenon includes sensation, perception, and the subjective evaluation and dynamic performance of the experiencers.(2)The trigger factors of religious experience questionnaire for college students include41-item and five individual tables, the five individual tables are edge situation, general life events, individual religious behavior, group religious behavior, and the music.The reliability and validity are fine.(3) The whole level of college students’ trigger factors of religious experience is lower than the medium.College students with different majors and different religious belief degrees show remarkable distinct religious experience trigger factors level,while the differences are not obvious as regard to gender, grade,and city children or not.(4)The whole level of college students’ life satisfaction is higher than the medium. College students with different genders, majors, birthplaces and religious belief degrees show remarkable distinct life satisfaction, while the differences are not obvious as regard to grade.(5)There is a remarkable negative correlation between the trigger factors of religious experience and life satisfaction.(6)The life satisfaction of college students plays an important role in the prediction of college students’ trigger factors of religious experience.Material life satisfaction plays an important part in predicting college students’ trigger factors of religious experience,edge situation,general life events, individual religious behavior, and the music. The satisfaction of body and mind has a significant negative prediction function on group religious behavior.
