Huang Houjiang, who teaches Chinese and is given the title of A Famous Teacher of New Generation in20th Century by Gu Huangchu, is a diligent and creative educator. He advocates the view of natural Chinese teaching-teaching Chinese should obey the rules of Chinese language and can express the unique characteristics of this language.During his more-than-30-year teaching process, Huang Houjiang keeps on researching the tenets, contents and methods of Chinese language. He stands for harmonious education and focuses on what to teach as well as how to teach, which makes him form a series of his own teaching characteristics.His greatest contribution lies in two aspects. On one hand, he gets the unique ideas of interpreting articles or texts when teaching reading comprehension. In addition, he changes this kind of ideas into some high-level practical designs of effective classroom teaching. On the other hand, he has a series of unique teaching art, which can make his Chinese teaching more flexible and more connotative. These two aspects are precious and useful for researches on present Chinese teaching in middle schools.Combined with comprehensive analysis method and some typical classroom teaching cases, this paper tries to state and analyze the ideas of natural teaching and harmonious education by Huang Houjiang, aiming at bringing some meaningful suggestions and reflections to Chinese teaching educators.
