Rural education is an important part of the national construction in modern China. The research object of my thesis is about the rural education of jiaxing area between1905and1937, and explores the intrinsic motivation of rural education development in modern China.After the abolition of the civil-service examination, the new education system establish in rural society. The establishment of the school and the source of funding have rules to follow. A set of perfect education system gradually establish and school run standardizing. The number of rural schools in Jiaxing area grow slowly after rapid growth. At the same time, the education level of rural elementary school teacher groups is overall low, so that they are hard to undertake the responsibility of rural education. Teachers’ salary is low, economic condition is difficulty, communication network is narrow and the work field is bad. These prejudice teachers’personal development and go against the stability of the primary school education. The condition hinders the stable development of rural education.In this period, the education development of Wangdian town in Jiaxing reflects the path of the education change under the influence of the government. In the20century30s, Wangdian town’s education level falls rapidly with the depression fall of social economic.It reflects a common problem that the rural education face in Jiaxing area. Wangdian Zhongxinxiaoxue sustainable developments and continues up to now,depending on the government support and the principal personal effort. Following country’s education policies and holding the actual situation nimble, the village schooles in Jiaxing area development tortuous in the social reform of modern China.
