In order to fill the gap between the skills of graduates and the demand of employers, and meet the growing expectations of students enrolled for higher education institutes to improve job opportunities, many countries begin to concern about the employment and employability development of graduates, in the context of rapid development of knowledge economy, changes of labor market, and the pressure of international competition. The government of United Kingdom issued a series of political agenda to promote employability, which we can learn from to solve the employment problem of graduates in China. To promote the enhancement of employability, the U.K. establish an cooperative alliance at all levels, including government departments, third-party agencies, research organizations and enterprises, jointly implement the strategy. Within institutions in the UK, the range of practices aimed to develop employability in graduates is diverse and includes:embed and integrate employability skills in curriculum, create more internships, placements and work-based learning opportunities, offer career service supports, and reflection on learning through Personal Development Planning by the students. Generally speaking, curricula have evolved very considerably to take account of the employability agenda. However, there are also substantial differences between institutions towards the agenda. This paper attempts to draw on the unique development of employability in U.K., and provide useful inspiration for our talent cultivation. Our government should provide policy support for enhancement of employability. Higher education institutes should reform programs and improve the quality of teaching. Employers should actively engage into the agenda, by providing internships and feedbacks. Individuals are recommended to take the initiative to practice and reflection. All sides of efforts should be combined to ensure the development of graduate employability.
